I know there is the goofy oem one, how ever I will be getting rid of the oem instruments. I had one years go in a truck but it is long gone....

What kind of gauges are you planning to use, IE SW, Autometer? Most gauge manufacturers offer aftermarket ammeters. However, I would NOT use a full current ammeter, so if "they don't offer an external shunt type, I'd use a voltmeter instead.
