throttle linkage ??

went to the track today finally, I've had the engine together and running since 2002. after 2 passes at 12.6 at 106 mph, i realized as soon as i shift into 3rd it really just lays over.

doing some checking while there. noticed when i press the pedal to the floor I'm only opening the butterflies 3/4's of the way. i have the lokar linkage on the car. tried every different setting couldn't get anymore out of it. who makes a correct linkage for our cars. this is just the universal setup. what is everyone else running?

I am kind of a cheap *** so I modified the original linkage and it's very close to complete full throttle.

if it's laying over in high gear you most likely should check out the fuel system, you may not have enough pump.

He said he noticed (not running)that his throttle linkage only opens the carb 3/4 of the way.
12.6 on 3/4 throttle... not too shabby. Just think what full throttle will do!
Uh, dent the floor?
Or check how much actual cable pull you have, and mount to an appropriately shorter lever/ point of pull on the carb?
Just a thought...
