I just got the /6 in my wagon and was installing the throttle linkage and noticed I did not have a return spring. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get one? It the spring that goes from the transmission to the linkage on my 62 Valiant.

Don't think so as the spring goes from a bracket bolted onto the transmission to the throttle linkage

is the bracket bolted to the big "loop/ear" near the front of the bell? those were usually for a column shift deal...

it is bolted to upper front of the transmission but thr tranny is a push button style and the spring goes up the throttle linkage

oh ive never messed with the pushbutton trans...

SL6dan can help you tho...

You have the oem 1 barrel rod system, for your accelerator.
You can check eBay, but that might be a hard one.
Hardware store might be your best option.
It's just a return spring.

Yup, it's just an ordinary extension spring. Find one of the correct dimension. Most auto parts stores have universal throttle springs with extra-long end loops that you cut and bend as necessary.

That return spring does double duty.....acc linkage and kickdown linkage. If you don't care about appearence, I'd try to build a double spring setup....one inside the other....for safety reasons. If a single spring setup breaks, the throttle goes wide open.
