i have a little play in steering wheel so i adjusted the nut on the colom, damn if i know how o spell that word, anyhow steering got tight but still had same play in wheel any clues

Have the suspension components checked. It's not a good idea to try and compensate for worn parts by adjusting play from the gear box.

It's "column", but no harm. I have to look up common words all the time!

I tightened my manual steering box by loosening the nut on top of the steering box, then tightened the adjusting screw with a flat blade screw driver. I adjusted the screw a quarter of a turn at a time to make sure that I didn't over tighten it. If over tightened, the steering can become stiff and even lock up or bind. I think I tightened mine up almost a full turn. Tightened up my steering pretty easily. Check the lube in the box while you're in the area.

thanks for the spellcheck now that i see it i feel stupid but it will be ok as for that idea i did that but all i got was tightness on the wheel so i guess its spending/saving time again lol
