Well I got out to the track today and after fixing the broken motor mounts and voltage regulator that caused problems last race I Got some decent runs in. My car is a stock 318 with a performer intake and 650 spreadbore carb. 3.23 gears, 2.5 exhaust from the stock ypipe. weights 3150 with me in it. I shift it at 4300.

The car seems to run good and is more consestent then my neon!.Speaking of which I have 225/60/15 drag radials from that car but I don't know of or if there are any cheap 15 inch sbp wheels that I could pick up and use, the backspacing of the neon wheels are not right. Anyways here are the times.

60ft 330ft 1/8 et mph 1/4 et 1/4 mph.
2.12 6.21 9.653 71.40

2.198 6.261 9.664 72.40

2.21 6.23 9.618 72.73

2.242 6.269 9.654 72.48

2.166 6.193 9.583 72.40 15.06 89.40

Thats a good time for a basically stock 318. Just out of curiosity, what is your timing set at? initial and total. I have a 318 as well thats a mild build but can't break into the 15's. But then again I am running street tires. I was always thinking maybe the timing was to blame, becuase I would think I would easily be able to hit 15's.

I greatly appreciate any help. Thanks

Very good times, your just a cam change away from 14's with a very mild 318, with street gears. In 75 360 dusters only ran 14.5 at 95.

Nice, same like deal here, ran my '74 - 318 Duster w/3.21's on stock tires to a tune of 15.14 @ 89 mph in the cold weather. IIRC, it was in the low to mid 50's.
Anyways, I added a Crane cam (216/228-.454/.480-112) Edel. LD4B, Carter 625 cfm, Hooker headers w/Jegs 2-1/2 exhaust.
I also have an electric fan.

I'm waiting for a bit warmer weather and a chance to tune the carb and distributor. I'm sure I have 14's in the car. I could also use a better rear tire since I was just spinning and chirping outta the hole.

This car is strictly fool around.

Yeah the weather was real good we were at sea level with the air. those passes were made on regular street tires, some cooper cobra's. Im trying to find a way to use the dr I have. The intial timing is set at 8 degrees, not sure on total.

I just put new cooper cobra 275 60 15's on my 340 duster Who Hoo they hook up good!!!!

i have a stock 360 with a cam and a 904 trans 430 gears ran a best of 12.39@105 162 60foot in my 70 duster 3300 pounds

And @ 42 cubes more, that is good, real good.

Now back to the 318 crew! LOL
