Ok it's been quite sometime since I've put together an engine. (Over 20 years)
First the camshaft plate under the timing cover.
Mine has no slinger that I can find and 3 bolt holes, none of the three bolts have a hole for oil?
It does however have a small drip piece.
Also did Chrysler change the crank seal at some point. I knocked one out no problem but after cleaning up the timing cover I discovered one of holes for the water pump threads were ruined. I have a ridiculous amount of timing covers so I grabbed a few others checked them out then tried to whack out the seal, but it won't give an inch?
Honestly it looks like it's one solid piece compared to the other seal edge.
See pictures.
I've got two timing covers soaking overnight in solvent, hopefully it'll loosen them up a bit.
Also I have three different length bolts for the head bolts (360) I know the short ones go outside the valve covers but I have two long bolts 4 7/8"
Where do the longer bolts go?
Thanks everyone.
