I just puchased a timing chain tensioner from Mancini Racing. My problem is no instructions. I do not have a clue how to install this, and I would realy like to see what it looks like when it is installed and timing chain in place.

Thanks indvance guys

Very easy if it is just like the Mopar piece I have put on at shop. Just remove existing chain and cam gear. Remove the camshaft plate and bolt the tensioner assembly on in its place. Leave the grenade pin in place till you install the new chain and gears. Oh yeah make sure you had it dot to dot b4 removal. Install dot to dot and pull pin. It is really more of a guide than a tensioner it will not rotate your engine or anything when tension is applied.

just trying to get this back to the top of the discussion board. Does anyone have a picture of this thing in place? You know a picture is worth a thousand words  Thanks in advance

Sorry, it's small, blurry, and not tat the best angle..But here's what I have...
Basically, you install it as the cam retainer plate, before the timing set. DO NOT PULL THE CLIP OUT until the chain is on and in place. I used blue locktite ont he bolts, and I used a hollow bolt in the lower left hole IIRC. When the chain's on, pull hte clip, I dripped some oil over the chain and guides, and continue assembling.

After you set the cam the last time, you just pull the pin and the shoe rides on the timing chain.
I did drill the fourth hole and replaced the pin with a small drill bit to hold the spring back better.

It looks like the tensioner rides on the outside and pulls the chain in, is that how it works? I actually thought it would be opposite.

If it held it out, it would require an assembly in between the chain and the sprockets. It gets a little tight in there. It's easier to fit on existing blocks the way it goes now. Least that's my guess.
