I was wondering what exactly I need my timing to be set at. I have an all MSD setup. 318, edelbrock performer, 3000 stall. Comp cams xtreme energy cam 20-223-3. gross valve lift .480 tappet lift 280 lobe sep. 110. I was at the track last week and it was acting strange. I had it set at 36 degrees. All the guys I work with drive ford and chevy. I ask them but there like "man I really don't know what kind of timing chryslers time good at. My 350" ..... etc etc etc. I'm sure you know what I mean. I read on here to not use an advance timing light? What do I need to run the rpms up to, to set the timing? This is a part of automoblies I'm not too keen on, so bare with me. :eek:ops: If you guys could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. :thumleft:

I usually shoot for 34-36 total and then rework the distributor advance slots to obtain 15-20 initial.
