timming marks 340

i have a 69 340 forged crank there are 9 timming marks made into the harmonic balancer. the first on is the deepest cut into it then they go clockwise from there after the first mark the rest of them are not as deeply cut ... can anyone clear this up for me ?????

I could if it was on a car. Just finding TDC and then again @ 180* over to mark it a second time.

Otherwise, I have never heard or seen what you desrcibe. Weird stuff.

the motor is out of car , i will spin the motor for tdc should end up on the first mark i think . the other ones might be for advancing or something i dont know

I have noticed 4 marks on one damper I have.
Since the motor is out of the car, TDC will give you the correct mark on the damper or the 180* out mark. White out on both of them.
