Pulled the engine from my 68 formula-s today and dissasembled.everything looks pretty good for a car that hasn't been started for 38 years.Should be an easy build.I was wondering if the dual point distributor is factory. The tag says chrysler 875105 and prestolite IBS 4015A then 127.Block #2780930 340-A date code 6-1967 The intake was replaced with a 2x4 edelbrock and I didn't check the camshaft but I don't believe the engine has been apart before.Comments?

Post your fender tag and someone will probably be able to tell you everything about your car. This sounds interesting, are you going to keep it stock or are you going to build a stroker?

Dual point distributor was stock on a 68 340. A number should be stamped behind the drivers side head.

If that number matches the vin, you have the original engine.

I bought a 68 form s 340 fish from orig owner and it was bone stock with a dual point dist. It was an automatic and I thought I had read that only 4 spd cars came with the DP in 68?

My 1970 Duster 340 with automatic tranny had a dual point distributor from the factory. As we all know, nothing is set in stone with Ma Mopar.

So did the 71 engine I bought from a wreck in the early 70's. I still have the heads and distributor
