If I decide to replace the torsion bars on a 65 Barracuda Formula S, what should I look for when purchasing new ones, size ect. Where would be the best place to purchase these. I have rebuilt the front suspension, the rear, with new leaf springs, bearings, brakes and shocks all around. Something tells me I should replace these as well.
Any thoughts or ideas. Is this something I could do at home?
Thanks as always.

They are pretty easy to change once you break them free. My biggest problem was the adjustment bolt on the LCA was rusted together. I have pst 1.03 bars in a 74 dart that will have a 440. They give a member discount. You might want to check the parts stores for a loaner t bar remover, makes the job easier.

Thanks for the info. When I was rebuilding the front suspension, it seemed the bars just would turn real easy. The car is totally stock, with a 273 Commando and automatic transmission. I ordered all of my front suspension parts from PST. How do I know the best size to order for my car? Thanks for helping, Once I get the floor pans in, I will be really close to having a driver.

BIG HINT: BEFORE you toosen the adjusting bolt. clean the threads VERY good. else you might strip the threads. been there done that
