Guys,

I just installed mopar performance torsion bars in my dart. One side is up against the pin in the back (where it looks like it should be) the other sits about 1/4" in from the pin in the back. Is this OK?? And is it just "sloppyness" of the design?

Thanks
Anthony

I've never seen any that rest against the retainer wire, left or right. There has to be a little tolerance or forgiveness there for play in the K-member bolt holes if nothing else.

Only once when a shop we call exesstire[express tire] did front suspension in a dart and instead of unloading & removing the bars & lower arms then inserting the the bar in the L arm [completely] they just assembled the lower & strut rod then hammered the bars into the lower arms which resulted in what you are talking about along with a refund and signed waiver of no lawsuit.
It also took them 4 days, when it takes me 1hr a side while sipping on a beer can.

maybe i'm explaining wrong. One side fits perfectly flush with clip. the other is 1/4 past that point. In other words, one side is possibly 1/4 shorter? (I didn't measure before installation)

Ive seen it before. Aslong as each end of the torsion bar is fully seated in there sockets I wouldnt worry. Are the Strut rods tightened evenly with the pinds in place ? The side you think is shorter could be sitting further up if that strut rod is over tightened.
