Tranny fitment question...

Hi, I have a 67 barracuda that I am in the process of installing a 360 either with a 727 or a 904. I have a newly rebuilt 727 now and a 904 that would need going through. If the 727 will go in there without beating the firewall to death I would like to use it and save the money of going through the 904.

What do you think??

It will fit and is tight. Mine is in a 64 dart. You may need to bend over the lip on the floor board/ firewall and the bolts up top are tuff but you will get.
 
I am definaltly going to give it shot...I really couldn't see why it wouldn't fit except a friend of mine made a big stink.

It will fit fine in a '67 up a-body. It's on the early a-bodies that can have some fit issues.

Every 340, 383, 440, and towing package Dart and Barracuda came with a 727 if it was an auto. Why is your friend making a stink?
 
I have one in my 68 Cuda and had no problem at all getting it in behind my 360. Your buddy don't know what he's talking about if he says it won't fit without beating the floor pan. The bolts up top aren't even that hard to get at unless your hands are the size of a pro wrestlers.
