Trans mount wear

How much (if any) lateral movement is ok in the trans mount? I can move mine a good 1/4" either way with just a screwdriver. This seems a lot to me.
Car is '74 Dart with 360 & 727 trans.

I'm not to sure if there's worn mount spec's. However, total play of .5 seems alittle much to me. I would think your engine's torque would move this even more then a screwdriver. If you have a engine/trans vibration (not moving) or a vibration that increases/decreases with RPM, it's quite possible it's time to replace. (fluids brake them down quickly) and they begin to soften up.

Thanks Signet, i've noticed that the vibration i have increases a little when i back off the throttle at speed. I'll replace the mount anyway.
