I think you'll be okay. The pump will fill the converter. Converters used to have drain plugs on 'em & they filled back up. My biggest concern is for the bearings in the converter. If it's an old converter it should be fine. If it's a new one it's hard to say what kind of lube might have been put on them during assembly. Maybe sombedy else will chime in on this.
I would drop the trans and converter. Fill it and all you will lose is a little time. If you just leave it you might get lucky, or you might loose the converter and trans, plus time. It's a gamble, but percentages go for dropping it out.
