Is the tin shield for the flex plate/TC for a magnum connected to an early non magnum 727 the same as any early LA block?

Thanks
Jim

Typically, the transmission dictates the inspection cover needed. If you have a 727 you run the inspection cover from that transmission. The Magnum block does not change that since the inspection cover screws onto the transmission itself.

But as I type that out I realize I never installed the mini starter from a Magnum into a 727 while using the inspection cover, since I don't run an inspection cover. I know the starter works in the transmission.

It should bolt right on. Magnum trucks and vans used a 518 or a 46RE, which is pretty much a 727 with an OD unit hanging on it. Same thing applies to an A500 which is based off the 904 style case. The bellhousing flange on a 5.2 or 5.9 is the same as 318/340/360.
