My son is looking to buy a truck. I have tried to talk him into something older like 60's or 70's, but he wants something from the 80's to mid 90's. He has a budget of about $5000. If I am going to haul it up from the US I would have to get it for around 3-4000. Here are some of the specifics he wants.
1. Any make, he doesnt have his heart set on any 1 make.
2. Extended cab or 4 door
3. 2WD or 4WD

Thats about it. This is his first vehicle so I am trying to find him something fairly reliable. I tried to persuade him into something older as that way I can help him with most repairs etc. With the newer vehicles that wont be the case and it will be going off to the garage for any repairs, so that will suck up his $$$ money quick at $70/hr. Thanks guys, hopefully I get some feedback to see what is out there for price and for make.

I've a couple but they're not exactly what you requested. 1st is a '91 W250 4 X 4 360 auto but just a regular cab and a '97 W1500 club cab 4 X 4 318 5 speed with only 49,000 miles but we're asking $6100 for it. PM me if you'd like more info.

I've got a nice 77 plain power steering and brakes,8.25 360,727,new hedman heddars,I'll be keeping the 360 and selling the rest at a decent price.

Hi Mark, prices seem right but you are too far away. Whether we pick up or have them del'd we would be looking at another $2k

Ok well we got an insurance quote on an 03 Ram 1500 SLT quad cab and the price is disgusting. They want $8000 a year for insurance. So now we are looking at changing what he wants. Its too bad as the 03 looks like a good truck and is priced right. So hopefully we can get him into something a little older. Cheapest insurance quote we have is $4900 for a 97 Ram reg cab 4x4. We are still hunting.

Cudamark thanks for the offer, but with fuel and plane tickets I bet we are still close to $2000

I have a nice 85 std cab/short bed 2 whl dr dodge pickup with a 318 and 4spd overdrive trans. Very well cared for given its age with mostly original paint. 3k as is. PM me if interested.
 
got a 97 ram 3500 cummins 12 valve turbo diesel 4X4 dually dana 80 track lock 4:10 extended cab SLT cold A/C cruise power windows power locks key less entry factory am/fm CD cassette rebuilt trans with shift kit Kevlar clutches new HD torque converter ball type hitch in bed 200,000 miles little rust on pass rocker none on frame it is my daily driver very reliable asking $6500 or best offer over $5000 (turned down $5000 cash from used car dealer) needs paint

Hi Steve,my X has a 77 Ford F-150 302 auto for sale on Kijiji.ca in Halton area.I know the truck is in very good condition,as it was a neighbours truck(he passed)She,s been driving it with my daughter for the past year.If interested let me know?She,s asking $4000 obo.She,ll take $3500.
 
Thanks for the input, we found him a 99 f150 extendacab. It should be ready for him by Tues or Wednesday. I hope its a good truck for him, all my fords have been good to me.
