Truck rear end ?

This will be going in my 65 dart /6. Later on i want to install a turbo. I want to upgrade all the suspension. Being that the 8 3/4 is VERY over priced and you have to rebuild anyway.. Looking at a grand or more when its all said and done.

I'm looking into putting a new rear end from a 02 or newer truck. I can cut the housing down myself. Get the axles splined at a reasonable price.. It will come with gears 3:55's and dics brakes.

Anyone done this??

Tha Dakota rear end is already pretty close, I believe.

I found a few DANA 60 with 3:55 and tracklok under trucks in the junk yards for $50- $100

You're gonna have to define "truck". Something out of a Dakota or even a 1/2 ton might not be any stronger than an 8 3/4, plus some of us just plain DON'T LIKE C CLIP AXLES

i didnt want to go Dana but i guess i'll start looking. just not going to pay these stupid prices they want for a 8 3/4.
