Truck Transmission Swap in Early A

Hey all,

Is there any difference between the truck and car manual transmissions? Ive been wanting to swap a 4 speed into my ‘66 Dart for a little bit now, and a ‘80 D series truck showed up in my local junkyard.

If it's a granny gear 4 speed, you wouldn't want to put that in there. If it's an 833 overdrive, it could be made to work, but would be WAY more trouble than finding an A body 833, along with the related parts to do the change over. The truck 833OD's have a longer tailshaft than an A body 833.
