I bought the DMT d shaped trunk seal for my 73 duster and I have to slam the trunk shut with extreme force to get it to shut. What options are out there that actually fit properly?
Trunk seals that fit?

Adjust the latch. The seals will break in with a little age.

The latch is adjusted as far as it can go, the seal has been installed for a year with the trunk shut

Hit the latch mounts with a round file to allow for more adjustment.
put some washers under bracket with the loop that is attached to the frame in the trunk (not the lid). The situation that you describe puts a heck of a lot of stress to the latching mechanism and will eventually ruin it.
