Hello everyone. My name is Rob. Here's my story:

When I was like 10 years old (im now 26), my great grandmother moved to TN from KY after her husband died (he was 103). They had a 1974 Plymouth Valiant that had been garage kept throughout it's entire life. In the late 1990's this thing had like only 30,000 original miles on it and my grandmother took it over as her daily driver. One day she and I were driving when she got in a bad accident in the Valiant. They're built like tanks so it didn't do a whole lot except dent it up. She got a shadetree guy to hammer the dents out and it kept rolling... Over time it got in a few more fenderbenders ... lol (I always seemed to be in the car!) Well, anyway when I was in high school my car died and the Valiant was passed to me. By the time I got it, it was dented on all four sides - embarassed of its appearance, I dubbed it the Blue Bomber. I hated that car so much, but honestly it ran like a champ.

Now that i'm older and have been looking for a car to restore, I have decided to try to restore the Bomber in memory of my grandmother. I loved her dearly and was stationed overseas in the Marines and missed her funeral (which I sadly regret today).

Tomorrow i'm going to ask my Uncle if I can have the Valiant to restore to it's original glory. I'm going to go by and take some pics of it to show tomorrow. It was carport kept for 10 years or so and then put into storage for about 2 years until my uncle decided to park it in an empty house he owned to keep people from breaking in. Anyway, that's my story.

Welcome BlueBomber

Don't worry about a few dents on the Valiant. They can be fixed and there's plenty of members here to help if you need it.

Must have been an omen for you being in the car for a few benders. Sounds like you've earned the ownership of the car thru the school of hard knocks..... LOL

Welcome aboard and good luck on your noble and Valiant cause! ;)
