I'd like to put a Tuff wheel in my 69 dart. I see the adapters use 70+ columns. Will the Tuff wheel fit the column as is, or does the adapter not fit the earlier columns? I guess the basic question is what do I need to do to get a Tuff wheel on a 69 dart column?

what does yours look like. I have a tuff wheel on my 72 Duster. I know the tuff wheel needs the adapter to work.

Try Grant Steering Wheels site. They have a tech. help area and or call them. Tell them your car and the questions that you have regarding your Tuff Wheel installation. Hope this helps. If I find any other info. I will forward it.

Don't know if you are watching the for sale section, but I'm pretty sure I've seen 2 or 3 come up for sale recently. I think one of them even popped up yesterday.

I am putting one in my 69 Dart also Grant has an install kit but you'll also need a spacer because it's way to close to the turn signal stalk with just the install kit. I can get the part numbers for you when I get home.

I apologize, I thought this was a different thread when I posted the comment about seeing the OE adapters for sale.

As I recall, you can bolt a Tuff wheel to an early column, but you need the kit from Grant. I was planning to do this with a red Tuff wheel on my '63 Valiant, but sold the wheel.

Have to admit that I don't remember when the change was, though. I know the earlier columns had a much smaller diameter, and I think the key was in the dash instead of the column.

That's about all I know.
