Turbo 6 @ the Track ...almost 10s

I was able to make 3 passes this past weekend before being asked to not make any more passes. I was hoping to get that 10.99. Next accessory is a cage.

Weather was great except for the 15mph head wind plus gusts. The car was a handful on the big end.

Boost was at 22-3psi, MT ET Street Radials 255/60/15

Best launch was foot braked @ 8psi. I still have a high speed miss that did not go away with plugs, cap, rotor, so I shifted at 5000rpm. 3300 lbs race weight.

I have a 70 Dart with a slant 6, great everyday driver and without messing up the drivability of the car I would like to do some kind of budget turbo set up just to keep the Honda's in their place. Guess I will have to start hanging out with the slant 6 forum guys for a while.

Yeah I feel you on that. I'd like to someday (key word "someday") do some kind of budget oriented turbo set up on the 273. Nothing excessive or amazing, but just to give it that extra kick (and like you said, keep the imports quiet)

That slant really cooks! your miss at high rpms may be a lean miss. LOL

It's not lean. AFR was between 11.5 & 11.9:1 for the 11.12 pass. Previous to that pass it was rich 11.0-11.4.

Shaker...what are your plugs gapped at?
Any chance you are blow out the spark?
Would a smaller gap help?

I have a cold NGK -9...plugs were gapped at .021

Hmmmm.
AF ratio's in good area, MSD box, and good plugs.

Wonder what is causing the misfire? Any chance plugs too cold heat range?

I'm thinking it might have been my distributor. I had points in for the trigger. I just put an electronic distributor in in hopes of a cure....have not run it yet.

I had hotter plugs in before this and had the same issue....RN9YC

I guess I could see the points not being able to react fast enough at the higher RPMS....

Let us know what fixes it. Looks like lots of fun. It looks like it just drives off the line then throws you back in the seat when the boos comes in.
