Have been officially commissioned to build a supercharged big block Mopar looking for BIG power.

Rundown:
440 block 4.350" x 3.850" = 458 cubes
7.1 H beams
Icon piston
Custom SFT camshaft
Trickflow 240 heads
Twin Torqstorm SC' and a blow thru AED carb 750 I think

This should be a very interesting and fun engine to build. J.Rob

Seems like it would be pretty easy to kill the block.

Fun until it does though.

This has been discussed at length and it is now out of my hands. My job is to make it last as long as I can. There is a very real rhyme and reason for everything... J.Rob

I got on here today to see if anyone had heard of the torqstorm system before. I talked to them at the good guys last summer.

How's the build coming along?

Ramm, are you going to grind a factory crank to get the 3.85 stroke?
i have one that's already been ground on the mains for a low deck, think the rod journals (already .020 under) need to be ground to clean up. Was thinking about making it 3.85 or 3.88" stroke, using a 6.8" rod and the Ross 1.238 CH piston. that keeps me from running the excess rod side clearance.

Yes a 3.750 crank can be ground to a 3.915" with a BBC 2.200" rod journal. Good luck with your build. J.Rob

Good luck fitting that in the engine bay. Looking forward to seeing a picture of it done and installed.

DO you plan on any type of block fill? Damned if I wouldn't do a half fill. That'll sure help, IMO.

Made some much needed progress on this build. Pistons are on the rods, rings are gapped and all the bearings finally came in. Longblock should be together mostly by the end of next week and then it will be fitting up the dual SC plate. I've got everything needed minus the pushrods and the ignition system. J.Rob

What car will this be going into? I feel like that intake might be too tall to fit into an A body.

@RAMM couple questions. What did you set the ring gaps to? How much boost? And power goal? Please and thank you.

I set the ring end gaps at .025". Pistons are. 050" in the hole and comp ratio works out to 8.78. Boost may only reach 12 psi or so.
Power goal is as much as possible right before the block leaves the chat. J.Rob
