two part question

I have a later od unit in my barracuda . I for the life of me can't figure out how the reverse lever goes. Can some one please post a picture for reference . I have seen a few on line but the levers look nothing like mine.

Next question how tight is the gear spacing supposed to be I just put a new Hurst unit in it and it's tight like really really tight. When I shift I am guessing what gear I just went in to.

My 3-4 rod and 1-2 rod have no bends in them I wonder if that's why it's shifting weird .
