I have decided to procharge the 340 that i am buliding. I should have enough money by february. Its built on paper as of now........i hope it flies.

i have the crank, reconditioned and resized stock rods with arp bolts, and a set of 360 188, 360 heads. any ideas as of cam and good pistons? i was thinking anything on a 114 deg lsa and around 8:1 comp. i spend about an hour talking to the guy from the supercharger store today.

Can't help with your engine question.....I 'm from around Lafayette. Good to see more Coonasses around here!! :D When's crawfish season starting up again?

Yeah yur going to want lower compression and a wide LSA. I would look for something around 220-230 @ .050" on atleast a 112Lsa.

8.0:1 should be good for compression. You should talk with the guys from the supercharger store or one of the cam grinders for a specific cam. They should be able to come up with a grind to do what you want your engine to do.

the lobe seperation sounds good (114) thats good for a s/c the tighter you go (lower numericly) the less pressure the charger can build (making the s/c less efficient) i learned this when i had my 144 charged 305 camaro......

i called the supercharger store and they were great. told me every possible thing that i would want to know, and they are sending me a book on supercharging. now i just have to get the money saved.........
