I am getting ready to bolt my Edelbrock performer intake on and have a question on the suggestions for the gaskets. I have read several posts and seem to get 3 different answers.

1. Only use the tin valley pan with some sealant.
2. Use the tin valley pan with sealant and 1 gasket between the intake and pan.
3. Use two gaskets on each side with sealant (good luck getting the bolts on)

I don't want to have to experiment with this, I would just like to do it right the first time. I am lean toward no gasket against the head with "the right stuff" sealant and a paper gasket between the intake and pan with sealant. Any suggestions please, as well as the best sealant to use. Why can't they just make this easy?

Just use the valley pan and no sealant, theres no water to seal off just air.
I build my own breast plates and run a thin gasket and you never have to remove the breast plate unless your changing the lifters. Also you'll never have to worry about the pan blowing up on you when you hit 6000-6500 rpms plus the oil leaks it makes.
I showed Rumblefish one when he was here a month or so ago, I guess I need to make another run of B and RB plates.
