I'm going through a stock 727 valve body and found some corrosion. The aluminum cleaned up nice but the separator plate has some pits and etching after rust removal, I'm thinking that it's going to leak over to other passages. The shuttle valve was also stuck, but that cleaned up nice as well. What exactly does the shuttle valve do? I think some shift kits block it's movement?

I've seen replacement seperate plates available.
Sonnax I believe has stock ones.
I know that back in the 80s when I did my 1st shift kit I chose a B&M and it came with one that was slightly modified but it's been too long ago to remember exactly how.
Id also check with trans parts suppliers like transtar and WIT.
