Putting Mopar Performance valve covers on my car and was wondering should I put Black RTV on both sides of the rubber gasket or just one side? Just wanted to be sure before I start. Thanks.............

I like using a gasket tack to adhere gasket to valve cover, let cure, using light clamps and straight edges, to keep gasket formed to shape of cover. then use oil resistant rtv on gasket to head, with good results.

I use weather strip adhesive to glue to the cover, nothing on the head side.

Aviation gasket sealer on valve cover side. Let it set up good then put them on. You can get it at napa.

I use the same method, but I use RTV on both sides. Plus I dab a bit on each bolt to keep any oil from seeping UP the valve cover bolts and staining the lip of the valve cover.

I quit using silcone sealer and most others after "The Right Stuff' came out.

And it can also be used on automatic transmission pans, the stuff just plain works great.

And if it was me I would smear alittle on both sides of the gasket
