my dads friend is rebuilding my 75 225 slant six and he called me and told me to look for some valves for the engine he said they needed to be 10 over. so i found the stock valve measurements 1.62" diameter on the intake and 1.36" diameter exhaust does this mean i have to get 1.72 intake and 1.46 exhaust valves?

I don't understand why they need to be 10 over. If he is going to use over size valve heads, it would be better to use larger. If he is talking about over size stems (because the guides are worn) it would be better to replace the guides. Better check with him and get it clarified. A common over size valve for the slant is 1.70 and 1.44

1.72 and 1.46 are 100 over, not 10 over

Ferrari valves on Ebay. Engine build is out. Or you can have other valves cut down. Also Ford 300 valves work but are much larger. 178/156

could i just buy the stock valves the head was not milled so it should be ok right?

Whether the head was milled or not has no bearing on what valves to use. Yes, you can buy stock valves, but what is wrong with the valves that are in the head, now? Are the stems worn, are the valve heads too thin/burned? Are they warped/bent?

he needed oversize stems found them at egge.com theyre around the block from my house really good serive they have everything there!! no more napa :D

Yep, EGGE is good. Personally, I would have reconditioned/replaced the valve guides, and used stock size stems, due to the fact, the guides will still need work to install the oversize valves stems.
Good luck with your project, and happy slanting.
