Valve spring ID

Can any of you guys tell what valve springs these might be? Comp 901-16? They came out of a 360 that had a factory cam with 974 heads that had these different looking retainers. I would like to use them with a 340 build running a melling Spd-22. I also have access to a set of Hughes 1110p still in a retired engine of my brother.

No way to know what spring it is by looking at them. You can measure them with a spring tester and get the load, then measure wire diameter and you might be able to match them up to a published spec for a certain spring but that’s as close as you’ll get.

Used or new you never know what you have unless you check spring pressures. Installed and compressed

IIRC the Hughes 1110 are good for .550 lift
