I have a stupid question. I noticed when looking at the various valve springs most seem to have a colored stripe on them, some are red, green gold etc. What does the stripe signify?

It will ID what spring they are. I have green striped single springs with damper from Mopar. There good for .480 - .535 lift. (Small block)

Thats what I thought the stripe was for, is there a guide some place that tells what each color stripe is?

I have b/rb engine book by Mopar and all it has is the part #s no color guide, if some one has this could they post it please?

It's for the manufacturer to be able to easilly see what a certain design is for packaging in sets easy. (16 of the yellow w/ one red stripe)...Comp does it too, but not every manufacturer does. I dont recall ever seeing a guide, but I also havent tried to find one.
