Hello All,
I`m looking at buying a second hand victor 340 manifold for my(stock strock)340 build, It`s in VGC & a good price.
Just wondering who has used one & what there like?? Or is there a better manifold out there that will suit my heads?? There a set of eddy ported heads, Here is the run down on the engine:

I got this 340 as a complete standard bore motor from just out of toowoomba(Australia).

I got it home and striped it bare and this is what I found in number 2 & 3 bores.....water had been sitting in them at some stage of it`s life & then been ran again, There were small stains in the rest of the bores as well.

I rang the guy I got it of and told him what I found & even sent him these photos to him, He could not believe it was the same engine. I took the block to the machinist, He said he could bore it 60up but it might not get all the pitting out of number 2 & 3. So we decided to bore it 40up & sleeve 2 & 3 at least there was one more bore left for a future rebuild.
I rang the guy I brought the 340 of and told him what the machinist said, First I ask him for my money back as the engine was not as good as he said it was, He told me that there's no way I`m giving you the money back and that it was just my tuff luck, I asked him if he would give me some money back to cover the 2 sleeves that had to go in, He said that he had a lot of bills to pay this month and could not afford it.......I told him what a great honest bloke he was & wished the rest of his life was a complete fackup.
I picked up this set of slightly used flattop vanola 40up forged pistons in the USA cheap and got them sent by US Priority Mail 6 to 10 days, They took 2 months to get here.....I think they went on 2 world tours LOL, I was sweating on them as 40up forged 340 pistons are hard to get.

I got these SIR eagle rods that I was going to use, But I have now brought a set of scat H beam rods for a bit more security.

I got the block(it has now been decked after the photo)back from the machinist & all was good, The the forged crank was in good nick & ground 10/10

I brought a set of out of the box mopar/eddy heads cheap in the USA and had them sent over which I have now sold.

And replaced with these: Slightly Used Shady Dell Stage II Ported Edelbrock Heads with Comp Roller springs and Titanium retainers.

I was going to use this comp cam but I`m going to a solid roller now as I want to make power up to around 7200 RPM, Not sure what size yet till I work out the compression the engine will have.

I also got a great set of these yella terra 1.5 roller rockers, I`m hopping they will clear the big roller springs ok. There a full needle bearing rocker.....I have read good & bad things(needles falling out)about full needle rockers so I sill havent made my mined up about using them.

I picked up this torker 340 manifold cheap, It needs to be port matched and it`s been soda blasted since this photo, I`m not sure if I will use this or go to the air gap super victor for the higher 7000 + RPM range the engine will be revving to, I also have a 850cfm demon carby to.
026-2.jpg

I picked up a recurved mopar dizzy & crane HI-6 control box cheap & I have now picked up a MSD billet dizzy also, I`m not sure if the MSD will work with the HI-6 control box?? can anybody answer that!! or I might just go with a full MSD setup.

I did have a set of block huggers I was thinking of using as the engine was going into the AP6, But I have now sold the block huggers because the engine is now going into a VG ute and I wanted a better flowing set of extractors. I have a set of Pacemaker headers but I`m hoping a good set of 4 into 1 will come up at the right price.
At this point the block is getting some oiling modification done to it so it will be happy operating above 7000 RPM, This is whats getting done:

The engine still needs to be balanced & a few more parts to be brought, It should be a fast hard revving engine when finished.
Cheers Doug

the 340 Victor is a Great Intake Manifold for 3500 to 8000 rpm ......if you are not racing..I would use either what I got or an Eddy Air Gap..

I don't think is be reving that set up to 7K myself. The cam isn't that big. Run the TorkerII as is with the spacer. You'll be fine.
Higher headers are better than nothing. Still not worth the price.

The why didn't you post those specs saying this is what I'm running?

I did...sort of, If you read my first post, I said that I woud be looking at a cam that made power to around 7200rpm

Thanks Tony, I just wanted to know who had used one & if they were happy with it's performances.

Time for an update, we’ve been waiting patiently, but patience is wearing thin here! :poke:

I don’t think you would be utilizing the potential of your engine with the TorkerII. I would use the Victor, or SuperVictor if it is available, just my experience.

I currently run a Victor 340 intake. My 360 is fairly mild with a 292 purple cam. 3.91's out back. Before Victor used to run an airgap intake. It ran good but I like the Victor better. It does what the airgap did and then some!

have you been to the track with both intakes? seat of the pants is unlikely to tell you anything.
My 360 ran 11.20’s with an airgap, honestly doubt it would have run any better, if as good with a Victor
10 to 1, big cam(260@50) and 8 inch vert.
That said, on my stroker, i just had a Victor ported to try, think it will shine over other stuff.

Just feels much more responsive. However, I did change the rear gears from 3.55's to 3.91's. Also changed cam from the 280 mopar cam to the 292 purple shaft. So all those changes did add to power increases for sure as a whole.
