I emailed Edelbrock several weeks ago and never heard anything so I emailed again today. It’s called pissing in the wind but I gotta try

Just talked to him. I think you will get some traction on your conversation with Heather now.... lol

Update on the issue that @pittsburghracer discovered and has been working with Edelbrock on.

My friend got back to me today and through their team investigating the issue, some tolerance issues within the programming used by the foundry was discovered and this is being corrected. The next batch I'm told will be perfect which is great news as I am waiting for Edelbrock to ship me an intake and one of their new 950cfm Race Carburators.

Thanks to John for bringing this issue to their attention and relentless communication with Heather, we can be confident in the quality of the ever so popular Victor 340 manifold to be top notch as expected.

This made my night when you told me the action you and I took wasn’t just a waste of time. As I said before this intake is to good to have this destroy its reputation. Thank you very much for double teaming them with me.

So often, it is a waste of time. “Other places of business” are so sure of themselves and there “It MUST be the stupid *** end user has no idea what there doing with our perfect product” crap attitude it’s insane.

Heather sent me a nice email today verifying the great news I got last night.

Hey John,

Hope all is well. I have some news for you!

According to Engineering & our team out on the floor, they are moving forward and they will be fixed.

The foundry spec's weren't specific enough and allowed for a small amount of error in machining. The CNC is going to have the "Z position" adjusted and the engineering model will be verified with the CNC program. Make sure when you check your manifold that the print-o-seal is facing the manifold.

Let the guys on Abodiesonly know that the next batch of these intakes will be better thanks to your input and photos. We appreciate you as our customer and the feedback you have provided our team with.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention,

And you E-mailed Heather right?!?!

Since there is now a direct connection to Edelbrock, I’d get on the band wagon!

For all the folks who received the defective intake, now that Edelbrock has found the fault on their end they should send you a new fixed one even if you modified yours's to fit. I'd be on the phone till I got one.

no.. i talked with lance who is their only RMA/warranty guy... really nice guy that gets back to you quick.. talked to him on the phone also.. He offered to replace mine but no idea when, so i just ground the ports to work and will have to pin my gaskets/line them up perfect.. gonna use a scope to do that.

They don't have any is the issue... it could be 6-8 months.

The whole mess up doesn't annoy me as much as paying twice as much for whats basically the same as a chevy intake (materials/machining) just hate getting fucked for no reason.

P.S. i ***** bout money a lot :)

Sorry but they could make 10 dollars off of every chevy intake and still surpass total money made of mopar intakes. I don't like it but it's a fact we have to live with.

That doesn't mean they have to jack up the profit margin per unit to make up for the less units being made.. it's just them screwing us cause they know there is no other choice.

I’m just thankful they make them and offer them at a fair price and fess up to a mistake. Way better than I got out of Milidon.

Glad to see that they responded and trying to correct the issue. I had an Victor 340 intake I bought probably 10 years ago off eBay that the ports didn't align properly. I contacted them and told them I bought it used, etc and they had me send it to them and sent me a new one. The only thing I paid for was the shipping to them. Even with what I paid for it from ebay and the shipping I had like 1/2 the price of a new on in the intake at that time. I didn't think to contact them about the issue, figured it was just a old ball or something.

I think this is a case of if you don’t get on the phone and start hollering you stand a chance of possibly getting a good end result. You guys know by now I post a lot of pictures. Pictures can explain a lot topics quickly and better than words. But the company has to have an open ear and not jump to the conclusion that the customer is the crazy one. My total thanks go out to Edelbrock for taking this on. Now if there was a way of letting them know that a few guys are interested in the small block Mopar Victor head. Guys aren’t going to lay out over 3000.00 on a product that hasn’t been available for a long long time, but there is interest. Hint hint.
