I returned home Sat AM to find some low life had tried to break into my garage while I was gone working. They managed to destroy the bottom lock but could not bust the dead bolt (glad I reinforced the door frame when I did the garage addition.... Does anybody have any experience / suggestions on a system? I want to buy a complete package, not piece something together. I have checked Frys and Amazon, looks like $300 to $400 will get me what I am looking for. One of the main things I want are cameras that actually show some detail, I dont want blury, grainy images. Thanks.

Not sure but check with your insurance co. Check to see what items would be covered in case they get in.

Why not a good dog? Dalmatian, Doberman, Rottweiler, German Shephard, etc...

Pitt Bulls are over rated and sometimes turn on their owners.

I got a Q-See setup from Costco for my business.

Good price for a system with its own DVR, and easy to do the basic setup, but the DVR controls are kind of anti-intuitive, and you need a static IP address if you want to monitor via internet. OK if you are technically inclined with computer/electronic stuff though.
