Here is an installation of the "heater only" Vintage Air. Factory tech advised placing it in the center of the firewall as opposed to where the original was mounted. 1/4 threaded rod was threaded to coupling nuts in order to create clearance for the wiper arms. (About 1/2 way between the firewall and the dash) Then regular nuts on the engine side to secure to the coupling nuts.
I had to buy straight metal connections for the heater core hoses and routed them through a panel I made to block the area where the blower motor was. 90 degree fittings are supplied for a direct to firewall mount

Next, I was able to go to a local parts store and bought a pre fitted 90 degree heater hose, which needed to be cut to length for the intake manifold which connected to a plastic 90 degree fitting to the corresponding heater hose. Overall, a nice unit and the fan blows strong. I didnt do the electrical connections

Note: 90 degree plastic fittings were also used to connect inside hoses, through the firewall to the outside hoses

I think I would have tried this a bit different, but "I wasn't there." Maybe an aluminum or even light plywood plate to mimick the part of the old heater for bolt positions thru the firewall, then bolted the new one to that.

You DO KNOW this is NOT GOING TO WORK?? LOLOL

For heaters to work, they MUST be installed in the midst of a blizzard. The blizzard must be either heavy, wet snow, or below 20F and blowing at least 10mph.

Sounds like any given Tuesday between October and may
