Was looking at old pictures the other day of Monster trucks, I remember as a kid in the 80's that those trucks were starting to evolve and that was when they actually crawled over cars and crushed them....not today where they jump and fly around like wrestlers in a ring do LOL!!!

Names like Big Foot, Orange Crush, The Ice Monster, USA-1.......cool stuff....anybody have any cool memories of these older trucks? :glasses7:

At 3:40, that's a scary moment, that guy almost got crushed in the first ever, side-by-side monster truck race

I liked old monster trucks better... They were so cool. I always watched the video, return of the monster trucks. I loved it... My VCR probably about had it imprinted and could have played it without the tape.

The first one built was from Missouri, know it has evolved into some real screaming
engineered Big HP peace of plastic bodies with air grabbing and flying Trucks.
Heck they do back flips know .. Yep I remember, and catch myself watching them :glasses7:

This brought back some memories of the Astro Dome tractor pulls and monster truck shows I used to go see when I was in Huston. The Mack truck "Big Mack Attack" set some records, IIRC. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a big fan of monster trucks. I used to go to the shows back in the 70's and 80's with my kids, though. I remember many of them.

Today's monster trucks have little or no appeal to me, they are essentially funny cars. I did, and still do like the original Big Foot (BF #1) truck, as it was a real, street legal truck with some pretty awesome capabilities for the time.

Also, "Rolling Thunder" The 1976 Dodge B200 van always had a special appeal to me and my 3 kids, as I had a yellow, 1976 Dodge B200 long Wheel base, Tradesman van at the time. Of course it was more of a custom street van than a monster truck. It was nick named "Moby Banana" by my son, and that became my CB handle, at the time. lol

Keith, I think I took you to one of those events when you were knee high to a grasshopper.

The guy that started to do the body work on my dart had the BIG BEAR truck sitting next to his garage for EVER. He was to go some work on it.

Actually think it is sitting at Jim's in that picture

Lame *** never did anything, cannot remember if it was on the property the last time I went by.

I liked the REAL trucks before the tube frames mid engine jumping trucks.

Talked to Andy Brass ( think that was the driver ) of Bob Chandlers drivers and told him I enjoyed the original trucks better, he said they could do so much more than the regular modified trucks, but to see a full frame monster truck do wheelies was better than the crap they do today

Bob chandler built BIGFOOT to showcase his shop and it turned into the high dollar business it is today. No matter what, got to love it

Not sure if this counts. It was at my local track awhile back. The owner claimed it was an old monster truck from the early 80s that competed in vegas.

Had a blown 454...ran 17s. lol
