vip to vp3 file....

Wife has been buying all these damn embroidery cd's to use with her PFaff sewing machine. Every last one on them has Pfaff specific (or so they claim) patterns. They are in .vip format....needless to say her machine supports .VP3 files. Quick, very quick, search of the www....need to buy a $2400 software suite to be able to convert the files.....:wack:......just might not have found the right link....

This program (Truesizer) is free with an account signup and is pretty highly recommended out of the free programs in the quilting groups.
It also converts file types, and may be worth a try.

I got to it by following a thread that the specific question was about the two file types you mentioned.

The above is a list of supported file formats. While my wife's machine is a Pfaff for someone reason it does not read anything but VP3 files. There is a software update available for her machine...not going to install it until the day before her next class at the Pfaff dealer....just in case sumtin goes haywire. The software I am using to convert is in beta form right now but it does what I need it to do. At some point I want to get her a digitizing program so she can do her own Embroidery designing. She had a chance to buy it when she was at a class a few weeks ago for half of the retail price but she had no idea what it was. Will be going to the same class in January of 15 so she will get it then....but for now what I am using works...lot of extra clicking because it does not let you set any defaults in it but it is what it is.....
