What is the longest your factory voltage regulator lasted before quitting?
Mine lasted until yesterday on my Cordoba, which was surprising it was never replaced since new.

well, I bought my Duster in 1989 and it still has the same one in it that it had then...not sure how long it was in the car before I bought it...

25 years Cliff, I'd say ya got the $$ worth out of it. Man the backside of that looks as bad as Roseanne Barr!

Baffles me Cliff how some stuff can last like your VR and then other $hit you change 3 times a year...

It is confusing. I had to post a new ???? in the electrical forum since there seems to be a new problem because of the change or it was always there and didn't show up until the vr was changed

Ya know? I'd say that that is an insult! That voltage regulator deserves much better then that!

the VR in my 76 B200 lasted 10 years (at least). I sold it in 86 and purchased a new B150. The vr in it lasted for 301,000 miles until I sold it in 94. the fellow (a co-worker) who purchased that van drove it until about 3 years ago. When he sold the van with 460,000 miles on it, it was still going. Only changes to that van in the first 460,000 miles were the regular wear items, and a water pump about ever 65K miles. lol

Ya know. Now that you bring up vr's. I've not bothered to look and see if mine is internal or not... I believe it is, but ya never know
