Hey FABO!,
Has any one successfully found and under dash a/c unit to mount under the dash on the 64-66 a-bodies? While the engine is out and most of the car is apart on my Barracuda, I thought "why not add more work to the process and add a/c?" I am ok with using the factory heat box since it is all rebuilt and new. The add on a/c under dash units like the Mark IV units from days gone by are an easy add on (mind you the whole kit including wiring, compressor and condenser)
The smaller a body's really could use some respect in this area. I'm game trying something as long as I know the work is in the end worth it. Currently with out a/c the car is only fun to drive in spring and fall. Hot summer with the big back glass is tough July/ August. Most of the current vendors have simular units- but nobody so far can show me it actually fits under the dash especially with the center console.
Thanks,
Joe
