I think you can change to the 68 0r 69 gasket. It doesnt need the lockstrip. my 69 doesnt have it.
 
get the 68-69 gasket with the trim clips and screws, then find some A-body front stainless trim.

I'm looking for some myself.
 
have you checked laysons or metro ? i justr bought one for a 66 from laysons and its correct in fitment,,,they are on sale till november 15th i believe 20% off,, call and ask for rick keesler,,,
 
still looking for a 67 gasket?i have one.nice shape,it will need cleaned up a bit from paint on it but 75.00 you can have it.thanks,mike
