I found out the hard way 67 k members are the redhead step child.. I'm looking for a good used cut out from a 1968-1976 K member with the idler arm that takes the threw bolt. Hopefully someone has a bent or hacked up one they can carve it out of. Please pm me with what you have.

Is the 67 mount bad or bad idler arm? They make 67 idlers for replacement. I know it’s one year only but they still sell them.

I've come across '67's that have the tapered hole in the "K" member worn out and idler won't tighten up, but thankfully it's been rare. Might be less work to swap out to a later "K" member since they bolt in.

If it's just the idler arm you need I have a NIB one from Moog back when they made the good stuff.

I have a K frame from a 74 A body that I will be willing to cut the idler arm mount out, since I've had no bites on it. It's from a 6cyl. Duster. How much would you like me to remove if you're still searching?

So you are going to all this time and trouble because you don't want to pay for a 67 Idler arm? And you think someone is going to weld the 68 up brackets in the right place? Good luck.

Man.. thank you for your expert opinion, I greatly appreciate it. 1st off it's not about the money for the 67 only Idler arm its about availability of quality ones, and the fact that it's a 1 hit wonder 1 year only part leaning solely on 1 bracket that can wear over time. Google really could be your friend here on these very forums there is the mod posted. 68-76 idler arm mount locator

We have 400,000 miles on a 67 Barracuda. It did not have an easy life, my brother Tom was 16 when he got it and we still have it. It went everywhere in all kinds of weather. The "supposedly" weak idler mount is still fine and just as strong as the thinner bolt through 68 up design.

Clearly he has made up his mind, mod the car the way you want to. I don’t think he understands why we are asking questions though. It’s so we can understand the problem and end state. I have a 67’ and as long as the support location is fine you can still get quality made 67’ idlers. PST has them that’s what I’m running on mine never an issue. If you are so adamant why not fully correct the k frame issues and go for the 73’ a body k-member so you get the better idler and better spool motor mounts. Just saying… get the best of both worlds without the hassle while you’re at it.
