Im in need of a 742 pinion yoke, straps and a driveshaft for a 73 dart. I understand the driveshaft will be a ton of money to ship im hoping for something local on that. As far as the yoke I would prefer something after market with a bigger u joint but I will take anything right now if the price is right. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately there is no "742" pinion yoke. There are 4 yokes used on ALL 8 3/4 rears(except for some oddball 67's). You have the large (7290) and small (7260) u-joint and the fine (29) and coarse (18 ) spline yokes. A 742 could use any of the 4 as could a 741 or a 489. Some pinions have the fine spline and some have the coarse. The large and small is a matter of what your driveshaft will be. If you have a rear now, look at the splines to determine which one you need.

There are large/small on one U-Joint available new to use a large U-Joint drive shaft on a small yoke rear or a small u-joint drive shaft on a large yoke rear. I have the small 7260 fine and coarse yokes available and can get you the joint that will fit either if you need. PM me

I need to pull yoke yet but as far as the drivedhaft it doesn't really matter. I just destroyed mine a few weeks ago and the driveline guy I go to said its junk so I need one made or I need to buy one. I was hoping if I had the yoke I could make a decision on having one made or buying a used one. Anyone know the size of the nut that holds the yoke to the rear end so I can bring a socket home tomorrow from work so I don't have to take the whole tool box.

There were two different sizes and I'm not home to check the nut sizes but if memory serves me right one is like 1 1/8 or 1 1/4.
