The Shocker

Had a great day of racing at the Whitewalls and Drags Nostalgtia event in Ardmore Oklahoma yesterday.I had a new best with the Dart ,but at the worst time.I broke out in the first round of bracket eleminations .Its stuck a great 1.54 60' and i knew it was gunna be to much ,so i tried to short shift it a bit ,but it still broke out by .02.It ran a 7.262 on a 7.28 dial in.If i hadnt short shifted to slow it down ,it proly would went 7.23 or 7.24 ,based on my other passes yesterday.Keep in mind that this is a 10 to 1 ,hydraulic cam small block (all motor) ,with a Powerglide ,and 8 inch slicks .It has 47 yearold 6 cylinder springs and 40 yearold slapper bars for traction (that arent suppose to work on Mopars). It also has 25 yearold Monroe shocks on it ( no trick drag shocks).BTW thats my 15 yearold daughter that greets me in the pits to say "i told you so dad".She told me to dial in a 7.25 ,but i didnt .Heres the link to the vid if you want to look ...
