So I left my car out in the rain last week and I came home and noticed that the floor on both passenger and driver sides was soaked. I know that there's a leak in the top part on winsheild so I have to fix that but my question is Does the trim help seal the front windshield at all? Could my floor being soaked be from the wiper motor cuz I know that those are known for leaking.

thanks in advance Dom.
It a 1975 dodge dart sport if that helps at all.

Water can build up in the cowl vent and come in through the wiper pivots. Schumacker has a kit to fix it that works well.

If it is a stainless reveal molding on top of the gasket it doesn't improve the seal. The chrome-looking plastic lock strip in other models does hold the gasket closed tight to the glass and prevent leaks.
The wiper pivots and or vent box seals leak if water ponds in the cowl. I would check/clean the cowl drains first and go from there.
