The top speedometer gear assembly is the one removed from this F body a833 OD transmission.
the second speedometer gear is in the photo for comparison.
Question(s)
1) are speedometer gears used in the F_J_M body vehicles that also have the plastic main body shaped that way, or is this gear excessively worn?
2) looking at the first photo of the boss inside the transmission housing that is the internal stop for the speedometer gear the boss shows what looks like a worn in spot face, is that normal? Or is there supposed to be some kind of a pilot pin or bushing in that hole on that boss? Or is that boss intended to be absolutely flat? The end of the speedometer gear that rides on the internal boss has some very fine threads spiraling off it like the plastic tip was being milled away.
advice - information appreciated
