Weatherstripping help needed

Hello again, guys and gals,

I need some help with weatherstripping. My front windows do not seal agains the roof rail properly, and I want to fix that. The shop manual is not too clear on weatherstripping, but it appears to indicate that a "sealant" goes into the channel and then a "retainer" is placed on the sealant. If I am reading the manual correctly, the windows close against the retainer. It appears that most of the roof rail weatherstripping that you can buy is only the "retainer", I can't find anything on the sealant. Can anyone provide some clarification on this?

I did not have the windows out of the car. Sorry, but I forgot to mention that it is a 1967 Barracuda Fastback.

Weather strip is a peice of rubber that you push up in to the upper door channel. You should not have to use any sealant but for a dab at the front and back.
