I have a question about a Weiand 8007 (dual plane high rise sb) . The damn thing has about 1/16th++ gap to the heads. Bone stock heads and block. Tried 3 different engines..the same. I emailed Weiand and have yet to hear a thing. Does anyone make a THICK intake gasket??

You mean the intake is touching the block and there is a gap at the head to intake surface?

That's what it sounds like.. Maybe it got cut and sent back new...wouldnt be the first time...

Yeah, there's a 1/16th gap between the intake and heads with the intake on the block. I bought it new from Weiand. Never thought they would sell a piece already cut!

F Weiand intakes!!!!!! I ordered one when I was building my 360 and it was the worst intake quality wise I have ever seen. The casting was so bad that it cut my finger when I rubbed it and only 8 of the bolt hole lined up with the unmilled heads. I also tried it on 2 other smallblocks and had the same problem then tried 3 other intakes on the motor I was building and they all lined up just fine.I called Summit and they told me that they always get calls on them. I exchanged it for an Eddy performer and it bolted right on the first time!

You might think I'm crazy but I had the same problem with a Edlebrock Performer on a 383. I just kept tighting the bolts down working from the center of the intake out toward the front and rear of the intake and it finally mated together with the heads. It worked that way for years with no trouble until I switched it to a Wiend single plane that mounted up correct with no trouble.
