My Dart Sport was my first car, bought it in the 1990s with money earned while grocery bagging in high school and I completely cherished this car. I have very fond memories of taking it to the senior prom and admiring it from the window of high school classrooms Sadly, it was prioritized down the list when it started to need expensive work and other things in life came up. It sat under a cover at my folks' house (much to their annoyance! ) for years...finally, it's home in my garage!
The paint is all original except for the driver's side fender that was dented before I bought it. I finally had enough cash and replaced it with another fender in about 2000 or 2001...it's a fair match but a litte bit too glossy. There is a spot of rust starting on one quarter and at the base of one door (small enough that they can't be seen in the pics) and I'm hoping that now that the car is out of the elements that it will stop the progress.
My goal is to have her back on the road by spring... The original 318 is tired with 140k....it needs a motor swap, 904 tranny rebuild and a rear axle assembly (since the 7.25" is supposedly extremely fragile). I'll also do brakes and shocks and cosmetic items along the way.
I barely know where to start...everything I know, I have learned from you guys on this forum.
Ok... just wanted to share a couple pics of my Sport. This car means a lot to me. Every time selling it seemed like the right thing to do, I lost my nerve...and at the moment, I'm very glad I did.
