What all do I need

-
idk. Although in my case, I wasn't able to respline my axles because the splines were higher than the rest of the axle, thus you may need brand new rear axles regardless. Did you get that 8 3/4 open from the guy?

For mine I did a write up on how I got my 8 3/4 in my 66 barracuda. Only this pertains to getting the rear housing cut for wheels with a 4.25 backspace, your measurements may be different. I'm assuming your rear end is out of a B Body.

The rear end is entirely new, to the car, it's an 8.75 out of a 68 Charger that was narrowed to 55 7/8 inch wide outside axle to outside axle end. With a 1/4 inch thick brake rotor that I bought from Dr. Diff the total width is 56 3/8. One side is narrower than the other in relation to the center as the body is off from the springs nearly 3/8 of an inch to the driver's side. You may have to measure to see if yours is different.
What you should do is get the car exactly where you want it ride height wise, then put the mounted wheels and tires exactly where you want them in the wheel wells and measure from back to back. I had to do a lot of measuring before we found out that the springs were off parallel in relation to the body. Which is why the driver's side is so tight and we have massive amounts of room on the passengers side (figuratively speaking).

...........If u have a B body rear going into a duster, u can move the spring pads in 1/2 in on each side, then buy offset wheels to make up the difference......then u dont spend a dime on the 8 3/4......kim....

Its not a b body rear its a rear out of a a108 van.Where do I measure an what measurements do I need.

If your car is the 73 Duster listed in your signature the housing needs to be 52-5/8" wide. That's just the housing width, not the total width. And the spring perches need to welded 43" on center with the pinion a couple degrees down (that figure can vary some depending on the application such as a race car vs street car vs. street/strip car). The axles in the Summit listing are decent. Not a race axle but plenty for a street/strip car. I see their listed as 28" wide where-as stock axles are 27-11/16". To use them you probably need to use green bearings and take out the thrust pin (clutch type SG) or thrust block (open carrier or cone type SG). You will also need to use B or E body brakes. They also do not have bolt access holes which makes it a little rougher installing them. If you want direct bolt in axles look on Moser's website. They have a low cost axle for no more than the Summit axles that are set up to be used with what ever brake size you have (there are 3 or 4 options that you pick from). And I believe they have the access holes which believe me you want.

Why not just buy an A-body housing? I found mine for $200 and that was just the bare housing. Not to give you a hard time, but it seems like everyone believes it's so much cheaper not to buy the A-body 8.75 and just cut one down. Unless you do it yourself, you will have more money in cutting one down.

Contact Dr Diff. He will answer any questions you have about 8.75s.
Cass is his name. I purchased axles from him a couple months ago for $300 - green bearings already installed and 3" wheel studs. He's a great guy to deal with.

Do this ^

Buy 2 of those $117 axles and pay another 70 for bearings, then have to press them on and you are over the $300 range anyways.

You wont' find a nicer guy to deal with than Cass. His A body 8.75 axles are the right length too. He's on ebay too.

Are the axles at moser 250 for 1 or for the pair

Part #: M30-CST-AB45 (1-Pair)

Right from Moser's website. Those may not be the right part # you need but their all priced as a pair.

Cass is good to deal with too and I believe a little cheaper. Probably just as good axles too cause the Moser's I posted are their basic replacement axles. The only thing is I'm not sure he has all the options Moser has. A call would find out in less than 10 minutes.
